Prior Convictions for DUI
If you have previously been convicted for a DUI or any similar alcohol related offense here in Florida, or any other state, a subsequent conviction for DUI will carry more severe penalties. In addition to everything found here for a 1st time DUI, you may be facing the following added sanctions:
For a 2nd conviction:

A fine of not less than $1000 or more than $2000

Up to 9 months of possible jail time

Mandatory placement of Ignition Interlock Device for at least 1 year

If the conviction occurs within 5 years of a prior DUI convition:

Minimum 10 days in the county jail

30 day impoundment of the vehicle you were driving

Minimum 5 years driver's license revocation

For a 3rd conviction:

A fine of not less than $2,000 or more than $5,000

Up to 12 months of possible jail time
